Tokyo was top on my list of cities to visit and our first in the Asian-Pacific travels. It was definitely the perfect place to start!

I loved the cutesy and kitschy vibes of Harajuku and Shinjuku — from the purikura photo booths to maid cafes to waaaay oversized cotton candy! This was the area I wanted to keep going back to.

The great thing about Tokyo is that you can get the modern city life while also experiencing the historical Japanese culture. The temples at Ueno Park were some of my favorites! But in most areas of the city, you are not far from some sort of historical and cultural monument, temple or park.

AND then when you just need to relax + be a big kiddo again, head to TOKYO DISNEY! It’s essentially a smaller version of the original park in Orlando (so definitely possible to do the whole park in one day!) but with a Japanese twist…think soy sauce popcorn stands! The best way to spend a day in Tokyo.
