Gabriel’s Wharf

Do you love exploring cities, looking for little hidden gems? It’s quickly becoming a hobby of mine and I’m here to share another one. {Actually, I found several this weekend so prepare yourself!}

Gabriel’s Wharf.. this picturesque, little seaside village will transform you to another place. You’ll forget all about the busy London city that surrounds you and escape into a quaint British coast town.

Just pop in for a quick drink to rest your feet, stroll in and out of the cute shops, OR if you want my recommendation.. grab a proper British pie at pieminister.

It’s small; perfect for a quick break in the midst of all the London tourism.

Here’s my suggestion: Explore Big Ben, cross Westminster Bridge to the Southbank, check out the London Eye (I think it’s worth the money and the wait IF it’s a clear day or night–it’s quite beautiful seeing the city lit up at night), then keep walking the Southbank east toward Tower Bridge (follow signs for the Thames Path). It’s just over a 2 mile walk PLUS you can grab a pie at Gabriel’s Wharf (you won’t miss it if you walk along the river), stroll past Shakespeare’s Globe and Tate Modern, and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous (which you should be!) you can scoot over to the Borough Market {post on this coming soon :)}. Borough Market is at London Bridge (which actually is quite anti-climatic) so after the market head back to the Thames Path and enjoy beautiful views of Tower Bridge and even peak at the Shard.
