The perfect stop off on the Golden Circle route was Hotel Selfoss, settled in the cute little lakeside town. Many of the accommodations throughout Iceland are remote and sometimes secluded or in the city of Reykjavik, not so many with the in-between options….Hotel Selfoss however, offers the close reach of nature and adventure yet with the small town feel (i.e. food options and groceries!).  The sleek, minimalist decor is clean and spacious. We fully enjoyed the extra room to spread out and enjoy a break from the road trip! 🙂

Also, the rooms offer a beautiful view of the lake and bridge!Food can be expensive in Iceland, so take full advantage of the included breakfast buffet at Hotel Selfoss! From Hotel Selfoss, we drove less than an hour to Geysir and then on to Gullfoss. It was the perfect resting point on our journey!
