LUXURY IN LONDON : A STAY AT THE SAVOY

SAVOY-LONDON

Located at one of the best addresses in the city, The Savoy is the definition of luxury in London. SAVOY-LONDONDating back to 1246, Count Peter of Savoy built a palace on the River Thames. Hundreds of years later, the Savoy Theatre opens in the same location with wild success! So much that a hotel is needed to accommodate the many tourists and the Savoy opens in 1889. Portions of the hotel were even used as housing for the actors and actresses of the theatre–our room featured a photo of the actress that rented it…she liked to wake up around noon with a glass of champagne…a perfect match for me! SAVOY-LONDON

Right off the Strand in central London, The Savoy is steps away from so many must-sees in the city…Covent Garden, the River Thames, Trafalgar Square, Somerset House, the Southbank and of course, a Westend Show! It’s the most ideal location for visitors to this great city.

The service at The Savoy is exceptional–from the moment you enter the lobby to the various restaurants to the in-room service…it’s the five star, professional and friendly service that makes this place stand out.

Afternoon Tea in the Thames Foyer at The Savoy is one of my favorites in the city– read more here!SAVOY-LONDON SAVOY-LONDON

For pre-dinner cocktails or for the evening nightcap, The American Bar is the spot to visit. They have an incredibly creative menu with cocktails inspired by London– from Westminster to Hackney, the drinks tell the story of the city!

The term “American Bar” derives from the style of bars opening in London during the late 1800’s and serving American style drinks–what we now call cocktails! This is the perfect place to try out some unique and insanely delicious drinks.
